The Helena Area Community Foundation
(HACF) today announced it has received a $24,297 grant through a partnership
with Opportunity Bank of Montana and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines
(FHLB Des Moines). The funding was awarded through the Member Impact Fund, a
matching grant program designed to amplify the community engagement of FHLB Des
Moines member institutions.
In Montana, 287 applications received
funding through partnerships with 41 member institutions. FHLB Des Moines
matched more than $2.40 for every $1 contributed by a member institution,
resulting in $1.6 million from members and $4 million awarded by FHLB Des
Moines.
Opportunity Bank employees surprised HACF
staff with the check presentation during a Greater Helena Gives employee
celebration held May 7 at the bank’s Prospect branch in Helena.
“This was such a surprise! I’m still in
shock. This investment comes at a meaningful time for our organization and our
community,” said Emily Frazier, Executive Director of the Helena Area Community
Foundation. “Support like this helps HACF continue growing Greater Helena
Gives, providing the technology, coordination, and nonprofit support resources
that make the campaign possible. Presenting this gift during this campaign,
when we are so focused on the success of our community, really hit me in the
heart.”
“At Opportunity Bank of Montana,
supporting strong communities is part of who we are,” said Jalena Johnson,
Regional Retail Manager for the Helena and Great Falls markets at Opportunity
Bank of Montana and HACF board member and events committee chair. “These
partnerships show what’s possible when organizations align around a shared
commitment to community. We’re proud to support that work alongside FHLB Des
Moines.”
“The Member Impact Fund is designed to
help our members champion organizations like the Helena Area Community
Foundation that make a real difference in their communities,” said Kris
Williams, president and CEO of FHLB Des Moines. “By partnering with our members,
we’re able to multiply resources and support their vital work as they continue
to strengthen opportunities for the people they serve.”
