Volunteer Spotlight: Teena Larson Serves with Heart in Broadwater County
October 15, 2025
At Opportunity Bank of Montana, we’re proud to highlight
employees who go above and beyond to serve their communities. This month’s
Volunteer Spotlight shines a spotlight on Teena Larson, Retail Branch Manager
for our Townsend location, a dedicated member of the Broadwater County Lions
Club, whose commitment to service has made a lasting impact in Townsend and
beyond.
Teena joined the Broadwater County Lions Club in August
2011, driven by a desire to give her time to a worthy organization in her local
community. At that time, she stepped into the role of Treasurer, a position she
continues to hold today. Her long-standing commitment reflects her deep belief
in the club’s mission and the value of consistent service.
“I love to be out in the community and getting to visit with
our customers away from the bank,” Teena shares. “I am so grateful to be a part
of that work.”
Through her involvement, Teena plays an active role in
several community events each year. She helps operate the Lions Club’s Corndog
Wagon during Townsend’s Rodeo Weekend in August and Fall Fest in October. She
also supports the Annual Perch Derby at Canyon Ferry Lake in January and helps
organize the community Easter Egg Hunt.
In addition to these events, Teena and the Lions Club bring
joy to nursing home residents by delivering gifts around Mother’s Day and
Father’s Day, and stuffed animals during Easter. These thoughtful gestures
reflect the club’s motto: “We Serve.”
In Townsend, that motto isn’t just a phrase, it’s a way of
life. Through her ongoing dedication to the Lions Club, Teena Larson
exemplifies the spirit of service that makes our communities stronger. She
encourages others to get involved in local nonprofits, especially in small
communities where volunteerism often depends on a few dedicated individuals.
Her advice? “Be prepared to invest your time where it is needed most.”
She also emphasizes the importance of outreach: talk about your organization’s
mission, invite others to join, and look for opportunities to help at local
events.
